Will be self-publishing several post-apocalyptic dystopian novels shortly.

      • I do, and look forward to reading one, do you have any posted on your site? like I said, I’m at work so haven’t taken the time to explore your blog yet but will soon πŸ™‚

        • Not just yet haha I write lots of other poems but I’m mainly into short stories and fiction. I’m just getting into this blogging flow it’s awesome, like you said so many supportive people at wordpress, we all need to stick together as writers it’s true πŸ™‚

        • I’ve yet to post them haha they’re a bit ridiculous but I was inspired by GK Chesterton’s quote that was something along the lines of “Poets have been mysteriously silent on the topic of cheese” or at least something to that effect haha, thanks for the follow and for dropping by my blog! πŸ™‚

          • LOLOLOL! Awesome!
OMG! Poor, poor cheese! It’s awful injustice! Cheese should be featured in poetry! Let’s write sonnets and limericks! Let’s write tankas and doggerels! Emmental and Maasdam! We come!!

          • LOL I’m happy you like! Cheese should be featured in poetry there’s no reason for it not to be it’s injustice! Cheese deserves just as much exposure as all the other topics dammit, every flavor and creed of cheese. The time for cheese is coming just like winter in game of thrones lmao

          • OMG! A Cheesedom! The full of holes Cheesedom is in danger! All noble Cheesekings and Cheesequeens look at us with hope and trembling! Even an infant Tofu stopped to whine! Air is full of abomasum poetry…

          • Truth be told, I’m actually like really not well versed in the varieties of cheese that exist so you’re like teaching me a lot right now lmao but we must write cheese filled poetry indeed!! πŸ˜€

          • No problems! I’m always ready to stand up for the Blue cheese dynasty! Β‘No pasarΓ‘n! Let’s go! Are you ready? πŸ˜›

    • No problem at all and thank you for the comment and the compliment of my blog! I like how you talked about moving beyond the ego to get out of your own way, those are powerful words. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. Hard to know when our egos are holding us back or when they’re moving us forward though, I’m not positive I caught the full vibe of your post but that was the impression that line made on me. Nice post! Thanks once again for stopping by! πŸ™‚

      • Why thank you, yes the ego is the issue and how we take it… we can let it control us or we control it.

Thank you for the ‘follow’ and I will follow you back. I look forward to your post and conversation.

        • I look forward to your posts and conversation as well! It’s true it’s very important that we learn to understand ourselves, especially the ways our own egos can hold us back from reaching fulfillment in life. Like you said, it can control us at times, we must seize hold of it and do our best to not grant it that type of power over our lives

    • Very happy to connect with a fellow blogger!! Great post on blogging as an individual instead of trying to fit some type of cliche blogging mold or at the very least that’s what I took from your post perhaps I misinterpreted hahah and I shall stay safely away from sinkholes all my life please do the same!! πŸ˜€

      • Exactly, Oscar! Blog fearlessly as an individual πŸ˜€ You got it right and your blog shows it! Your individuality as well as your care for your followers is wonderful.

        • I’m so happy you enjoy my blog!! It’s true I do my best to show every follower I really appreciate their support, I’ve gone so long writing without any feeling that anybody would ever care and yet there are so many supportive fellow bloggers out in this wonderful blogosphere encouraging me with their kind words, it means the world to me.. Happy I got the message of your post correct! It’s a positive perspective, I shall take it even further to heart!! πŸ™‚

    • I didn’t even know there was vegan cheese! Haha some day I will put some poems up but just I’m not ready for it yet. I have written a few, but this statement is mainly derived from my love of the funny GK Chesterton Quote – β€œPoets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese” that quote’s always cracked me up for whatever reason haha

    • Thank you so much for the kind comment! I apologize that I must very politely decline having just done a real neat award post but I really do appreciate your taking the time to read my blog and your keeping me in mind in regards to this! And you’re more awesome you’re all over the world and making delicious food while you’re at it!! I’m very happy with the reception I’ve been getting in the blogosphere it’s been phenomenal I’m deeply grateful, my goal is to continue to entertain and keep a solid blogging pace! I really appreciate your readership and I hope to continue to entertain in the future! Happy blogging!! πŸ™‚

    • No problem at all I like getting exposure to other cultures I’ve never been to Mumbai, and thank you so much for stopping by and for the follow! I’m so happy you enjoy my blog!! Best wishes to you and happy blogging!! πŸ™‚

  1. G’day Oscar,
Just popped in o thank you for our visit, was tickled pink that you saw it, as I lost it for some time there hahahahaha, one day I will understand W/P, but the chase is still fun, πŸ˜‰

    • Apologies hahah I put that there mainly because of the GK Chesterton quote concerning poets being silent on the subject of cheese I just found it hilarious, thanks for the follow!

    • Thanks so much for the follow as well! I look forward to seeing more of your blog posts as well! And I should eventually be posting some of them but they’re so ridiculous! Haha

  2. Thanks so much for liking the Kafka post over at The Expositrix! And I look forward to your writing on cheese; I can’t eat it anymore, and need some vicarious enjoyment!

    • LOL vicarious enjoyment of cheese indeed shall be given in time, and I really liked your Kafka post I didn’t know that Kafka worked at a day job that he hated and that he eventually just let everybody know his passion would take priority over his deskjob, that’s pretty awesome!! Always loved Kafka’s works and his quotes but I had no idea that he was dealing with the same sort of drudgery we all deal with

  3. Thank you, Oscar, for visiting Black and Red, and for liking my article.
We share a bit in common–we both love writing. I’m planning to get back to fiction writing once the blog picks up a bit.

I hope you like puns, because when I see that you write poems about cheese, I cheddar tear and can only brie-lieve that they’ll be gouda. (I apologize, if you don’t like puns.)

    • LOL I like puns haha it’s free season on puns especially those involving cheese go right ahead πŸ˜€ No problem at all, I think your article definitely made an important distinction between having a degree and having learned something of worth from college. Sometimes people who don’t get degrees go on to become very successful, many who don’t get degrees don’t go on to be successful, some people who have degrees certainly haven’t learned enough to thrive in the real world, and having or not having a degree does not mean somebody is or isn’t equipped to be President of the United States, I thought you made a lot of interesting points there in that article. I personally lean towards the Democrats but this is primarily because I feel like the wrong perspectives have infiltrated the conservative movement in the Republican party, hopefully that shifts in the future, but I don’t know I’ve tried to think less of macro politics as of late though I do try to keep my eye on it. Thank you for dropping by my blog!! Best of luck to you in your writing pursuits!! πŸ™‚

  4. Thank you for the kind words, Oscar. I am especially encouraged whenever I can engage in dialogue with someone with whom I disagree politically, and still find areas of common ground. I hope that you’ll continue to participate at Black and Red and leave comments (even negative ones) whenever you feel so inclined.

Admittedly, before my second fiction writing class in college, I was intimidated by fiction writing. I’ve come to find it much more agreeable (even cathartic). Still, though, I’m very intimidated by poetry, and am in awe of people, like you, who face the genre head on. I wish you luck, and will be following your writing through this blog.

    • No problem at all thank you so much for dropping by my blog! And thanks so much for the good luck wishes best of luck to you in your writing as well! I completely agree with your post, we need to get out of our comfort zone to grow as individuals. Definitely something to always keep in mind, stay hungry for success πŸ™‚

    • No problem at all thank you for checking my blog out as well!! I shall take this into consideration indeed haha I’ve never had camembert cheese but I will need to now, I mainly put that portion into my about because of the quote from GK Chesterton which goes ‘The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese’ though I do plan on eventually putting up cheese poems at some future date haha thank you so much for the follow!! πŸ™‚

      • Ah well, if any cheese were to inspire you it should be camambert. Thank you for the follow back! You have some cool pieces, I’m glad you liked my piece so I could read yours and find out I like them!

    • Thank you so much for your support! I’ve yet to post these poems as I think often about the GK Chesterton poem about poets being mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese, but I have written a few poems about cheese hahah thank you so much for the comment!! πŸ™‚

  5. Hey man, so this is a little late, but thanks for liking one of my first posts ever! I really appreciate it. I just started my WordPress 2 weeks ago and am slowly learning the ropes, but I just checked out a couple of your posts and I can easily say I’m a fan! Keep up the great writing and catch you around. Happy days! πŸ™‚

    • No problem at all Karan! Hope you find your blogging experience to be nothing but positives on wordpress I’ve only caught positive vibes in the blogosphere, and thank you so much for checking my posts out too it’s very very much appreciated!! See you around happy days and happy blogging to you!! πŸ™‚

  6. Just to say hi and to thank you so much for visiting and now following my blog.
I shall look forward to returning soon to learn more about yours.
    Kind Regards

  7. Thank you so much for liking my first ever blog I only started it today and I was sure that I wouldn’t even get one like for the first few weeks so it means a lot thank you πŸ’–

    • Haha thank you so much! You’re right I have recently decided to not do award posts but I do appreciate the thought and consideration for my blog thank you so much once again!

    • No problem at all thank you for checking my blog out as well, when it comes to getting an agent to truly accept a work I guess I could only put forward the same things others say in regards to that, making sure to fulfill their submissions guidelines and not querying agents who don’t take your genre, things of that nature but I’m no expert and I don’t yet have an agent but best of luck to you in your writing endeavors!

  8. Hi there!

First off, congrats on graduating. I’m confident you’ll get your writing published soon. Your posts are great to read.

Might I ask how you found my blog?

    • Thank you so much for the congratulations!! I hope that some day my writing will get published, I know that it’s a slow grind to that moment though I’ll be sure to be persistent until things come together. I’m very happy you enjoy these posts, I really just search random sites all across the blogosphere tbh haha I think we all have a constant preoccupation with ambition like you said, it’s the only way to live my friend always striving. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my blog and I wish you nothing but the best in your own blogging journey happy blogging!!

      • Thank you for the reply! I find it interesting that you search for random blogs–it’s something I haven’t given much thought to try, but I think it’s a good idea. I hope you continue to write and find your voice.

        • You’re more than welcome I try to reply to anybody kind enough to drop a comment on my blog. And I recommend it highly it gives you a feel for the diversity of the blogosphere there are so many different voices out there, thank you so much for the well wishes for my writing!!

  9. What are you talking about no one will read your posts? Tons of people are reading!!! That’s great!
I do not know how you find mine blog, as I just started it, but than you for the props – it keeps me goin’ πŸ™‚

    • It really is great thank you for the comment!! At the time I’d written that particular post I had nobody really checking me out and I’m very grateful that things are shifting. And you’re more than welcome, I agree with everything you mentioned in that post of yours. The consequences of mistakes of past generations are all getting heaped onto this current generation of ours and future generations. I’m in my twenties as well and, while I don’t believe in taking too pessimistic a perspective on life in general, the fiscal trajectory of the country isn’t pretty. Decades upon decades of mistakes don’t get remedied in a few years, and it’s true that an absent sense of moral obligation is partly what’s brought us into this precarious position. It’s my honest opinion that we’re in a calm before an economic storm, really really hope I’m wrong though. Not to jump too far off topic but I feel you on the burden placed on our generation. I apologize for the pessimistic rambling I still believe there’s always a way in the end gotta keep positive haha all the best to you!!

  10. I love your “about” and the few posts I have had the time to read. I look forward to following you. I also wanted to apologize that I accidentally posted on my site before it was finished. You liked it (thank you) but instead of just editing and reposting, I deleted it. Thankfully I had a copy; however, your like was lost. If you would care to go back and read the rest of the post and re-like it that would be fine, but don’t feel it is an obligation!

    • No problem Heather happy to encourage!! With respect to your post I personally don’t officially celebrate Christmas but it doesn’t bother me at all when people say it so I totally hear you about that sometimes people get too PC you should feel free to say it with conviction haha thanks for checking out my blog as well and happy blogging to you!! πŸ™‚

  11. Thanks for liking my post Oscar, it means a lot. Again, it’s just a sort of trial version of what I hope to have, but I’m glad someome out there enjoyed it πŸ™‚

    • No prob thanks for dropping by my blog! I don’t really know much about what’s happening over in Oregon but Oregon does have amazing scenery I’ll focus on the positives haha happy blogging!!

    • No problem at all and that was a pretty awesome article! Interesting perspectives in the article, it’s been years since I thought about that tornado awful tragedy I’m honestly surprised more tornadoes like that haven’t run through urban areas it’s a terrifying thought, and a great quote to close on speaking about how people rise to the occasion in disasters as either ‘saints or scoundrels’ as he put it. I appreciate the compliment on my writing, and I wish you nothing but the best in your pursuit of a career in journalism!!

    • No prob thanks for giving my blog a go as well!! When it comes to processed cheese it’s not really my preference my favorite cheese would probably have to be brie cheese I like gouda too, processed cheeses aren’t usually my go to but when it comes to philly cheesesteaks I don’t mind the processed cheese at all so it really depends on the context of the cheese haha happy blogging!!

  12. Thanks for liking our post. I’ll take a look at these poems about cheese, which is one of my favourite foods.

  13. Love the last line of this bio. I’m also a fan of cheese, so I know I’ll definitely like cheese poems πŸ˜€ I wanted to let you know I’ve nominated you for the 3 Quotes, 3 Days Challenge.

    • Thank you so much for the kind comment I’ve strayed away from those types of posts as of late but I definitely appreciate the thought!! And I do enjoy cheese definitely but I’ve mainly posted that quote to allude to a G.K. Chesterton quote with respect to how he once said β€œPoets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese” happy blogging!!

  14. Oscar, thank you for ‘liking’ my blog. As many others here have said, I’m relatively new to blogging and appreciate knowing someone is reading. I’m glad that lead me to your blog–I like your writing. Thank you, Jeff

    • Thank you Jeff!! I like the topic of spirituality and Quakerism was something once pretty foreign to me but I’ve come to realize it’s a tremendous spiritual outlet and it’s a very unique set up. My uncle’s family is actually Quaker and my grandparents were Quakers, and when my grandparents passed I attended Quaker meetings where people sat in silence and I watched firsthand how people can one by one stand and speak something kind and thoughtful and spiritually inspired to the rest of the group, I really do like the set up I believe we can all find our own route to a Higher Power thanks once again for stopping by come back anytime πŸ™‚

  15. Quick question. You liked one of my posts (The Fictional Diary of Andrew Lewis). First off, thank you, because it’s starting to become strange. But how the hell did you find it?

    • No problem reads like Chuck Palahniuk at points fascinating stream of consciousness, I really just scour the blogosphere on random days and that’s how I came across it. With regards to Cleveland at least LeBron’s in Cleveland right! So there’s that positive haha it’s a fascinating piece of writing unique stuff thanks for dropping by my blog too!!

    • Thank you so much!! I have a few agents interested at the moment so I’m hopeful that I can get it out into the world sooner rather than later thank you so much for the best wishes!! All the best!!

  16. Hey Oscar! Thanks for the like on my story! I was just curious about how you found my website! You seem like a pretty popular blogger; maybe you could lend me some tips! I really like the simplicity of your blog! Cheers!!

    • Hey RattΓ©! It’s really awesome that you got to study abroad, I still want to go to other countries and travel around the world but I’ve not yet had a proper opportunity to do so, but perhaps that’s just me holding myself back from experiencing the life I want to live that’s really cool that you got to experience that, and no prob I really just randomly go searching through the blogosphere to interact with as many other bloggers as I can on random days when I get the time I do my best to interact with other blogs and I make a concerted effort to interact thoughtfully with each blogger who’s kind enough to interact with me I’m really happy that you like the layout of my blog I chose this style mainly because it draws immediate attention to the words though I’ve considered changing it to a layout that more properly conveys that I am trying to become a published author but I’m happy that you appreciate the simplicity of it, thanks so much for stopping by my blog man feel free to swing by whenever and happy blogging to you!! Cheers!! πŸ™‚
